A Note From the "Tachman"
In the last several months I've had many requests to convert pre-1974 Ford tachometers to GM HEI.  In 29 years of authorized Ford service I could not figure this out; since I consider Ford's in-line tach hookup to be the most reliable and accurate system. However, through many intelligent clients I've talked to, I found out that Pertronix is now offering their reliable electronic conversion kits for 1974 up Fords. In 1974 FoMoCo changed how they derive their tach signal from the coil. Ford switched to the same style as G.M. and Mopar. I found out many 1973 back clients did not understand what they were installing or purchasing.  If you own a pre-1974 Ford tachometer, make sure you know what you are ordering.  The 1964-73 Ford in line tachs will not work with the HEI distributor Pertronix is offering. They need to be converted and H&H Auto can do this, but it is not necessary! It is never a good idea to convert an in line tach to the minus side of the coil!   All 1964-73 Ford Tachs need the following system!!!!!

Need Your Original 69-70 Ford Dixco Hood Tach Restored?
The first picture on the left is what this Dixco tach looked like before restoration.  The next picture is a complete restoration.  Silk screened dial, new meter and without the lens.  The picture below is the final product with the lens and the Ford logo on the bezel. The above 1969-70 Ford Mustang Dixco hood tach is an original Dixco hood tach restoration.  Please be aware of the inferior repro Dixco hood tachs as they look like the tach above.  The repro has a plastic dial face and can't be silk screened and they have 4 wires, the original has 3 wires, most of the time  The reproduction Dixco hood tach has a completely different electronic circuit and meter. Most of the time they can't be repaired.  Make sure what you are buying and if they operate properly!

1980's Tachometer Conversions
1.  4 or 6 cylinder to 8 cylinder tachometer conversion and calibration for those who want to drop in a V-8 under the hood.

Here's an Interesting Fact from the "Tachman" at H&H Auto, Authorized FoMoCo Service!
Early 1965 Mustangs with the "Low Profile" rally pac (used in 1965 on special Hi-Perf Mustangs) had the same clock face as the 1965 "High Profile" rally pacs. Later, "Low Profile" rally pacs used on the 1965 Hi-Perf models had the same clock face as the 1966 "Low Profile" rally pacs, used entirely in 1966. In 1966 the "High Profile" rally pac was discontinued.  View the pictures below, a recent rally pac resto by the "Tachman." Notice the stem on the early 1965 "Low Profile" rally pac and the "High Profile" rally pac did not negate the "6" o'clock numeral printed on the clock face, but the later 1965-66 "Low Profile" rally pac clock did not have the "6" screen printed on the dial." Also, the 1966 yellow second hand was used on the early and late 1965 rally clocks & all 1966 clocks.  Just another fact from the "Tachman" at H&H Auto.
